Border Shenanigans and Laughs: A July 1rst (4th) to Remember
On July 4, 2025, the ever-creative Age on the Stage troupe transformed the Canada Day BBQ into a playful border-crossing adventure filled with laughter and satire. The theme? Guests were cheekily “arriving” from the USA into Canada and had to navigate a mock border crossing to enter the festivities. The “border agents” grilled guests with tongue-in-cheek questions, sparking giggles and dramatic performances worthy of an improv night.

Photos of the lineup captured participants in character, patiently waiting for the imaginary gates to open. Things took a hilarious turn when a dual citizen (played by Linda C.!) created a diplomatic pickle that the patrol guards refused to resolve. Just when it seemed the drama had peaked, a larger-than-life character entered the scene—Donald Trump himself! The President was convinced he had landed in Beaumont, Texas instead of Beaumont, Alberta! His confusion provided endless laughter and added just the right dash of absurdity to the act.

Around the venue, signs proudly showcased the joys of Canadian culture—from maple syrup to free healthcare—adding charm and character to the celebration. The skit was short, sharp, and sweet, blending political parody with community spirit in the most entertaining way.

The feast was no less spectacular: juicy hotdogs and hamburgers, savory baked beans, crisp garden salad, and ice cream to cool it all down. With 60 tickets sold, the event buzzed with energy, smiles, and lots of laughs!.
